The Advisory Board of the Friends of the Library asks the Ashland library staff for a wish list at each quarterly Board meeting. The Friends' annual gifts and donations to the library are based on this list and other special requests during the year. The Advisory Board is the decision-making body that determines which purchases the Friends will make for the library. The Board also sets aside a portion of organization’s budget to purchase appreciation gifts for the library staff from time to time. Besides serving as the Friends’ fiscal agents, the Board members plan programs, coordinate book sales and other fund-raising events, and help out at many library functions.
